Speech and audio

Configure text-to-speech, queue behavior, languages and volume.

Speak a message

Speech targets the whole device, independently of its display regions. Messages play in first-in, first-out order. Supported language values are zh and en; available voices depend on the installed engine.

Protocol example
{"speech":{"text":"Welcome to IoT Devices","lang":"en","volume":70,"rate":1,"repeat":2}}
Speak a message
ParameterLimits
volume · loudness0–100; default 60.
rate · speech speed0.5–2.0; default 1.0.
repeat · repetitions1–99; default 1. The queue holds up to 20 messages.

Queue and saved settings

stop ends the current message and continues with the next. pause and resume preserve the queue. clear stops playback and empties it. Settings sent with text apply to that message only; settings without text become saved defaults.

Protocol example
{"speech":{"pause":1}}
{"speech":{"resume":1}}
{"speech":{"clear":1}}
{"speech":{"volume":60,"rate":1}}

Engine and progress

Choose the system engine or the optional offline engine after its model is installed. A successful command reply confirms acceptance, not completed speech. Track asynchronous progress using the original message ID. A full queue or unavailable engine returns an error.
